Creative Cadence
Ten years ago this month I received the official state paperwork for Creative Cadence LLC. And my business was born.
.
I named my company to signal the ongoing and steady rhythm of fresh ideas and creative expression. As a drummer, you know that the cadence keeps everyone marching in line. There’s a discipline to it and in order to see the light of day, to stay on track, current and relevant, creativity demands that discipline.
 .
The agency’s original purpose was to be the home to hold all my writing, photography and numerous creative projects, including my earliest work from childhood, the song I’d written and produced in 2007 and the two books that were already circulating with readers.
 .
As the market continued to shift and my own life changed, the agency evolved. It branched out into consulting +200 individual clients on their careers, and nearly a dozen businesses on consumer behavior, retail trends and content communication. Along the way numerous speaking engagements, book readings and media appearances in different cities and states followed.
.
And its essence Creative Cadence is all about Marketing. And today, more than ever, Marketing is Storytelling and Connection.
.
With my first business book, Date Your Career: The Longest Relationship of Your Life, out on Amazon and the recent radio interviews I am now taking the business to the next level – a bigger platform to share and advise people on jobs, the corporate environment, market trends and what true leadership looks like.
.
And as I recently crossed the 1000 Cleveland State University business students taught line, my first-hand experience and relationship with Millennials is driving so much of the work I do. They are changing our world and the quicker the rest of us embrace that delta, the more we all benefit.
.
I’m grateful for the family, friends, clients, contractors, referrals, brand ambassadors, students, readers, editors, proofreaders, contributors, publications and DJs that have supported the vision and the evolution.
.
Here’s to the next decade of effective storytelling and connection, and the discipline to execute both.
